From national policy updates to poolside networking, the 2025 NALTO Fall Fly-In is where the locum tenens industry comes together to talk shop while having some fun along the way.
Held on October 9–10 at The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa in sunny Scottsdale, Arizona, this year’s event is packed with a compelling keynote address, timely legislative updates, insightful executive panels, and a “bubbly” social mixer that provides attendees with space to relax and connect.
Over the course of two days, the Fly-In offers rich opportunities for learning, networking, and peer collaboration. Here’s what you can expect on Thursday and Friday
Day 1: Orientation & “Boots and Bubbly”
Thursday is when everyone can “fly in” and get ready for the fun on Friday. Whether it’s your first time or you’re a veteran “flier,” Thursday offers a relaxed, welcoming way to kick things off:
- 3 p.m.: Check-in begins at The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa. Settle in and swing by the exhibit hall.
- 3-6 p.m.: Mingle with vendors over drinks and appetizers as the Exhibit Hall opens. Don’t forget to come say hi to Cory at Locumpedia!
- 5-6 p.m.: Get acquainted with the event’s format and hear directly from NALTO board members and industry leaders at the new member orientation.
- 6-9 p.m.: Unwind at the off-site Boots and Bubbly mixer, sponsored by Alera Group. It’s a casual evening of hobknobbing before a full Friday agenda.
Day 2: Sessions, Exhibitor Face Time & Prizes
Friday marks the start of the main program, featuring keynote speakers, expert panels, and a bevy of networking opportunities.
The day begins with breakfast with the exhibitors from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m., followed by the opening keynote, titled “If You Can’t Stand Up, Stand Out!” Hosted by motivational speaker, Paralympic gold medalist, and author, Mike Schlappi, this unconventional address runs from 8:45 to 10:15 a.m.
After a refreshment break, it’s time for the morning session from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. NALTO leaders will update event attendees on the latest developments regarding H.R. 1160 and New York’s Article 29-K, including successes and roadblocks their lawyers have encountered in Washington.
From 11:40 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., a networking lunch will be held, focusing on the potential impact of the “One Big Beautiful Bill” on the locum tenens industry. NALTO President Jarin Dana will be joined by Ryan Bernstein and Mimi Blair of McGuireWoods to provide analysis..
Next up is the afternoon panel, “Executive Edge,” from 12:45 to 2 p.m. Moderated by Liz Hale, President-elect of NALTO, this panel will feature industry experts, including Janet Elkin, CEO of IMN Enterprises; Tim Fischer, President of Jackson & Coker; Shawn Mullen, President of Interim Physicians; and Troy Jelinek, Senior Vice President of Sales Operations and Strategy of CHG Healthcare.
Following an afternoon refreshment break with the exhibitors, it’s time for themed networking roundtables from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., where attendees can rub elbows with other industry leaders and discuss relevant topics, including credentialing, scaling operations, team building, and more. Get those questions ready!
After a whirlwind day, the Fly-In will conclude with a closing reception from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m., featuring the last chance for exhibitor face time and prize drawings. Don’t sleep on the prizes! There’s almost always something you would actually want to win.
