Locumpedia is now accepting nominations for the 2025 Locum Tenens Providers of the Year Award.
This award exists to recognize locum tenens professionals whose contributions extend beyond simply filling shifts. The honorees are clinicians who bring stability in times of staffing crisis, ensure continuity of care in communities that struggle to recruit permanent providers, and share their expertise in specialized areas of medicine where demand far exceeds supply.
Each year, the award highlights physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants who set the highest standard for the locum tenens profession. Their commitment shows in the quality of their clinical care, the trust they earn from patients, and the confidence they inspire in colleagues and facilities alike.
Now in its fourth year, the Providers of the Year Award has become an annual tradition of recognizing the individuals who embody the resilience, adaptability, and compassion that define locum tenens work. These stories remind us that locum tenens is not just a staffing solution, but a vital part of modern healthcare delivery.

The 2024 Locumpedia Providers of the Year were nominated by Aya Locums, Caliber Health, Cynet Locums, Medicus Healthcare Solutions, Wilderness Medical Staffing, and OnCall Solutions.
How it Works
To be eligible for the 2025 Locumpedia Provider of the Year Award, physicians and APPs must meet the following criteria:
- Practice exclusively in the United States
- Work in a generally recognized medical specialty
- Exhibit notably exceptional patient care in 2025
- Work for at least three months with the nominating agency
- Complete two or more assignments with the agency
Only authorized representatives of locum tenens staffing agencies can nominate providers for the award. This includes recruiters, account managers, credentialing or accounting staff, or a leadership team member.
While there is no limit to the number of nominations you can submit, we suggest focusing on quality rather than quantity, as only one provider can win per agency.
No more than 10 providers will be named 2025 Locumpedia Providers of the Year. The minimum number of winners will depend on the number of nominations submitted. Last year, there were seven winners out of 27 nominees.
Key Dates
All provider nominations must be received by December 12, 2025.
After a panel of locum tenens physicians, industry leaders, and Locumpedia staff review submissions, the winning providers will be announced on January 12, 2026, when Locumpedia will publish a profile recognizing providers for their accomplishments.
On January 19, 2026, Locumpedia will also donate $150 to a healthcare-related organization of each winning provider’s choice.
Staffing agencies that nominate a winning provider will receive a digital badge featuring the provider’s name and the agency’s logo, which can be used on websites and in marketing materials.
