MDPerm is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Psychiatrist to provide comprehensive onsite psychiatric services at the Lt. Col. Luke Weathers, Jr. VA Medical Center.
This position supports Veterans in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, delivering care consistent with state-of-the-art civilian medical standards.
Schedule & Work Hours
Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Clinic Hours)
On-call coverage required during evenings, weekends, and holidays
Phone response required within 15 minutes while on-call
Onsite response required within 60 minutes when called in
Weekend inpatient coverage as needed (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
Responsibilities: Clinical Duties (95%), Clinic and Program Support, and Administrative Duties (5%)
Required
Active, unrestricted MD or DO license in any U.S. state
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
Current BLS and ACLS certification
Ability to pass federal credentialing, privileging, and background screening
Strong clinical competency in both inpatient and outpatient psychiatry
Preferred
Experience in VA, federal, or military healthcare settings
Experience treating complex behavioral health populations
Work Environment & Expectations
Approximately 6–6.5 patient care hours per day
Typical volume:6 patients per day (1-hour visits), or
12 patients per day (30-minute visits), or a combination
Collaborative, mission-driven federal healthcare environment
Must adhere to VA Medical Staff Bylaws and clinical standards
