Permanent Hospitalist opening in the Rochester, New York area
Job Description
Medstaff is assisting a client in the Rochester NY area with a search for a Hospitalist (IM or FM) to join their team!
Position Type: Permanent Placement
Schedule: Prefer 7on / 7off schedule
Hours: 24-hour Shifts, Onsite 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, On-call 4:30 pm to 8:00 am
This Hospitalist supports a 15-bed facility with 14,275 ED visits annually. The role requires 3 – 5 years of Hospitalist experience. The group currently includes two Physicians and 4 APPs (who cover night shifts), Locum providers cover the on-call needs.
- Average of 20 – 23 patients per 24-hour day
- Average of 4 admits per 24-hour day
- Unit serves inpatients, observation patients, and outpatients in a bed
- Hospitalists run codes on the floor
Required Procedures: Paracentesis, the hospital has a PIC line team available 24/7
Preferred Procedures: C-line procedure
No vent management, and no intubation are required. No ICU, step-up bed.
Subspecialists available: GS, Cardio, Nephrology, Urology, Ortho, Neuro, Neurosurgery
This is a rural hospital seeing general medicine and surgery inpatients. The average length of patient stay is 3 – 5 days. Readmittance rate is at 6%.
Required Credentials: Active New York medical license and DEA for locums. ACLS. Requires Board Certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Med-Peds.
