The role mandates participation in a 24-hour call schedule, with specific procedural requirements including Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), which is mandatory, and Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS), which is highly preferred. The position involves the following key responsibilities:
– Performing 3–4 outpatient GI procedures daily
– Managing inpatient consults and conducting necessary GI interventions
– Providing ERCP services – a required component
– Performing EUS procedures – highly preferred
– Utilizing Cerner Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system for documentation and patient management
**Candidate Qualifications**
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
– Board Certified or within three years of achieving Board Eligibility
– Possession of an active Iowa medical license or eligibility through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC)
– Current ACLS certification
– Up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination status
– Clean malpractice history and background checks
– Comfort and experience working in inpatient hospital settings
