  • Loyola University Medical Center, Maywood, IL (inpatient) – Gottlieb Memorial Hospital, Melrose Park, IL (inpatient)
  • Reason for Coverage: Fill gap from retirement/relocation
  • Patient Demographic: Adults
  • 50% Hematology / 50% Oncology

  • 8-16  patients per day
  • 1-4 admissions per day

  • Locum would be responsible for supervising residents and medical students. There is usually a senior resident, 2 interns, and 1 or 2 medical students.
  • Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: 60-90 days

The hospitalist attending would need to be physically available for the time frame that the primary house staff service is managing the patients, from 6AM – 6PM, but not once the night float resident takes over.  The availability doesn’ t necessarily mean ” in house” for 12 hours, but at least ” on page” for 12 hours.  I would expect they would be ” in house” at least 8AM-4PM minimum to staff admissions with the team.  On weekends, the hospitalist would be ” in house” until noon, but on page until night float takes over, which is 5PM or 6PM.  After 6PM until 6AM the following morning, the hospitalist needs to be ” on page” for admissions and/or questions from the house staff.
