- Education: MD or DO from an accredited school; completion of an ACGME/AOA-approved 3-year residency in EM, FM, or IM; ECFMG required for international graduates
- Certifications: VA license, DEA, ABEM/AOBEM or ABMS in FM/IM/EM, ACLS, ATLS, PALS, BC, NRP for non-abem
- Immunizations/testing: MMR and Varicella (2 doses or immune titers); TB within past 12 months or QuantiFERON within 3 months plus second TB prior to activation; chest X-ray within 3 months if positive; current-season influenza vaccine
