Shift Details

• Estimated Start Date: February 16, 2026
• Requested Date of Coverage and Schedule: Start date is tentative and can be discussed. There may be a need for more hours around Spring 2026.
• Schedule Details: 12-16 hours/week. Facility can only accept 16 hours max at this time.
• Procedures: Provide psychiatric assessments, medication management, and ongoing mental health care for developmentally disabled patients with co-occurring mental health disorders, including diagnosing per DSM criteria, completing MSEs, prescribing medication (including controlled substances), coordinating treatment plans, and delivering care via telehealth or onsite.
• Certifications Needed: Requirements include an active CA license, board certification or eligibility (preferred but not required, certification to be obtained within 5 years of residency), authorization to prescribe controlled substances, flu/COVID vaccination.
• Patient Population/Case Load: The role includes 6–10 patients per 7.5-hour day.
• Case Mix: Primarily managing conditions such as anxiety, depression, intermittent explosive disorder, disruptive mood disorder, OCD, schizoaffective disorder, and bipolar disorder, with occasional JV-220 cases.
• Other details: The psychiatrist will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, maintain compliance with Medi-Cal/Medicare standards, complete clinical documentation in the EHR, participate in quality initiatives, provide family/caregiver guidance, and prepare legal or clinical reports when needed.
