Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

Location: Mississippi

Position Overview

Emergency medicine advanced practice coverage in a medium acuity emergency department.

• Coverage model includes 24 hours of physician coverage daily and 10 hours of NP or PA coverage daily.

Schedule

• 10 hour daily NP or PA coverage shifts.

Clinical Scope

• Annual emergency department volume: 17,000.
• EMR: EPIC.

Required Qualifications

• NP must be Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) board certified through ANCC or AANP.
• PA must be certified through NCCPA.
• Minimum of 2 years of emergency medicine experience as an FNP or PA.
• Current DEA registration with Mississippi Controlled Substance Prescribing Authority (CSPA) and a Mississippi address.
• ACLS and PALS certifications required.
• NIHSS certification required.
• Case logs covering the previous 2 years required.
• Proof of CME completion covering the previous 2 years required.
• Candidates must have at least two years of clinical experience within the past five years to qualify.
