From a federal and state policy briefing to a private night at the Georgia Aquarium, the 2026 NALTO Fall Fly-In is where the locum tenens industry gathers to talk shop and enjoy a little of Atlanta while they’re at it.
Held September 15-16 at The Westin Peachtree Plaza in downtown Atlanta, this year’s Fly-In packs two keynotes, four concurrent breakout tracks, a timely legislative update, and two evening receptions into a tight two-day run.Â
Over the course of those two days, the event makes room for learning, networking, and the kind of candid peer conversation that tends to happen only when the whole industry is together in one place. Here’s what you can expect on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Day 1: Keynote, Breakouts, and the Exhibitor Reception
The program opens Tuesday afternoon, once registration and exhibitor setup wrap up around midday. After the president’s welcome at 3 pm, Carrie Moore, an executive recruiter at Dartmouth Health, delivers the opening keynote on personal identity and job satisfaction, a fitting frame for two days that keep circling back to why clinicians choose this work and why they stay in it.
At 4:30 pm, the group splits into four concurrent breakout sessions, each running a half hour, covering the questions that sit at the top of most agency leaders’ minds:
- AI in Locums, led by Trey Hutchins of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co.
- Attracting and Retaining Top Talent, with Shawn Mullen of Interim Physicians
- Risk Management and Litigation Avoidance, with Karen Hayes of Hayes Locums
- Credentialing Best Practices, with Lynn Mitchell of Vista Staffing
Day 2: Panels, Policy, and a Night at the Aquarium
Wednesday opens with breakfast in the exhibit hall at 8 am, then moves into the busiest stretch of the program. Here’s how the day unfolds:
- 9 am: Voice of the Customer: a provider and client panel offering the rare view of what working with a locums firm looks like from the other side of the table.
- 10:45 am: Legislative Update: a federal and state policy briefing with McGuireWoods Consulting, including the closely watched lobbying efforts underway in New York and California.
- 12 pm: Networking Lunch with exhibitors.
- 1 pm: Scaling Your Business: a session built for the start-up and small-to-midsize firms mapping their next stage of growth.
- 2:45 pm: Closing Keynote: Shane Jackson, president of Jackson Healthcare, on building culture and leadership.
- 4 pm: Mid-Year Hall of Fame Nominations, closing out the formal program.
From there, the group heads offsite for the evening’s main event, a private gathering at the Georgia Aquarium with transportation provided from the hotel. It’s the social high point of the Fly-In, and a genuinely memorable way to wrap two days of industry talk.
Getting There and Staying Over
The Westin Peachtree Plaza sits in the heart of downtown Atlanta, within easy walking distance of Centennial Olympic Park, the aquarium, and plenty of places to grab dinner once the sessions let out.
One planning note worth acting on early: the host room block has sold out, so anyone still finalizing travel will want to book a nearby hotel soon. Options within a five-to-nine-minute walk run from the Courtland Grand on the lower end up through the Hyatt Regency, Hampton Inn, Marriott Marquis, and Residence Inn. And a reminder straight from NALTO: the association doesn’t use any third-party housing or travel service, so if a company reaches out offering to book your room, it isn’t official. Book directly with the hotel.

Early-bird pricing closed in July, so regular rates now apply: $295 for NALTO members and $550 for non-members. Registration includes tickets to both evening events, with additional guest tickets available for $75 each.
