(Edited from SIA Daily News, 8/1/2022 & 8/24/2022)

Aya Healthcare now ranks at #2 on Staffing Industry Analysts’ (SIA) list of the largest US staffing firms based on 2021 data. The San Diego-based healthcare staffing firm ranked at #14 in 2020.

SIA noted that the number of the largest staffing firms in the US—those producing $100 million or more in revenue—grew by 21% between 2020 and 2021, from 186 companies in 2020 to 225 in 2021.

“While some industries experienced disruptions in 2021, the staffing industry flourished in an environment of record demand,” said Timothy Landhuis, VP of research at SIA, adding that companies included in the list generated combined revenue of $135 billion.

With $10.6 billion in revenue and 6% of the US staffing market for 2021, Maryland-based Allegis Group topped the list of largest firms again this year. Number-two Aya Healthcare ($5.7 B) was followed by Randstad Holding ($5.1 B), Express Employment Professionals ($4 B) and Adecco ($3.65 B).

SIA said the revenue highlighted in the report included temporary staffing, direct hire and retained search, as well as temp-to-hire conversions. It did not include revenue from other types of workforce solutions.

“Revenue figures in the report represent SIA’s best estimation based on available information at the time of publication,” according to SIA Daily News. “The accuracy of estimates may vary depending on multiple factors, including firms’ willingness to provide or confirm information about their operations.”
